Position Overview
Teaching Artists will lead engaging classes and workshops in a supportive and creative environment. Opportunities are available in our studio programs as well as outreach initiatives in schools and community settings.
Responsibilities
- Teach performing arts classes in areas such as acting, musical theater, dance, voice, improvisation, or related disciplines
- Develop and lead engaging lesson plans appropriate for various age groups and skill levels
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Support student growth in artistic skills, confidence, and collaboration
- Represent Mainstage Center for the Arts professionally in studio and community settings
Qualifications
- Experience teaching or working with students in the performing arts
- Strong background in theater, musical theater, dance, music, or related disciplines
- Passion for arts education and community engagement
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
- Teaching artist or classroom experience preferred
Schedule
Teaching opportunities may include weekday afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends depending on program needs.
