All Classes take place at The Performing Arts Academy, 27 S. Black Horse Pike,Blackwood, NJ unless noted as Glassboro.

ACTING & MUSICAL THEATRE
           for children pre-K to Kindergarten
 

             CLASS SCHEDULE 2019-2020                      

* NEW  THEATER TOTS    Pre-K and Kindergarten –  Tuesdays  6:00 – 6:45  OR  Thursdays 5:15 – 6:00
Introducing a new curriculum for our pre-k and kindergarten performers.  This class will be an introductory class where children will enjoy acting, dancing and singing through a series of theatre games, storytelling, music and movement geared to their delightful imaginations and youthful energy.  TEACHER: Carol Passaro, Ashley Bitterman

 

STAGE KIDZ ACTING.     1st – 3rd grade      Tuesdays   6:00 – 6:45   OR  Thursdays  5:45 – 6:30
Amazing fun, as children in this class use their creative juices in a series of  theatre games, acting exercises, storytelling, crafts, puppetry and exploration of the theatre world, all the while developing confidence and self esteem that will carry them through life.   Teachers:  Sarah Gafgen, Johnathan Aviles.

                         

ACTING CLASSES IN GLASSSBORO  1st – 5th grade – Wednesdays 6:15 – 7:15
This class, taught by Glassboro High School Drama Director, Anne Marie Weaver, brings together elements of  the Stage Kidz and the Show Stopper Acting classes to meet the skill levels of its current students. The class always includes elements of audition prep, and through the use of scene work, monologues and and theatre games other important acting skills.   Teacher: Anne Marie Weaver. This class is held at the Glassboro Park and Rec building, South Delsea Spots Complex, 152 S. Delsea Drive, Glassboro, NJ


MT KIDZ ( Musical Theatre Kidz) –  1st – -3rd grade.    Mondays 5:30 – 6:15  OR Wednesdays 6:15 – 7:00.
 Your child will enjoy this introduction to the world of Broadway Musicals. Students will learn to sing and dance as an ensemble through a series of fun dance and music exercises.    Teacher: Megan Ruggles

 

BROADWAY APPRENTICE’S – 3rd – 6th grade   Mondays  6:15 – 7:15 OR Wednesdays  7:00 – 8:00
Your young performing apprentice will explore the next level of skills needed to become a confident musical theatre performer.  Skills will include but are not limited to: exploration of harmonies, solo vocal preparation, more complex dance combinations. and the introduction to a variety of dance and musical theatre styles.  3rd graders can be evaluated to participate at this level given their experience and/or if they are an older 3rd grader.   Teacher: Megan Ruggles, Lindsay Deal

 

* NEW  PHYSICAL COMEDY CLASS – 3rd – 6th grade   Thursdays 6:30 – 7:30
A class where the students can get a different experience or perspective when it comes to performing. Not focusing on vocal performances, but being able to perform through physical movement, facial expression and Laban Movement. The Clown idea gives the student a chance to create their own person and develop a character that they are willing to perform to an audience.  This training in using the entire body while acting is a key element to an actors growth.  Teacher: Mr. Johnathan Aviles
