Students will learn how to bring out the best of themselves at a commercial audition. This includes tips, techniques, and personalized coaching on how to deliver a professional commercial audition. This class is ideal for the student who wants to become comfortable in front of the camera and loves to perform. Each week students will be filmed, and the commercials will be watched in class for feedback from their peers and the instructor. Teacher: Deckonti Tiah

Students who have taken the beginner Acting for the Camera course will now have the opportunity to take on new roles in this advanced Acting for the Camera class! Students will be challenged to write their own material and have the opportunity to work behind the Camera filming and directing their own projects! The intensity of study grows in this Musical Theatre class as students at this level travel through the ages of Broadway Musicals learning dance combinations from different eras of musicals while also focusing on acting through song.

THEATRICAL MAKEUP (6th – 12th) Mondays 7:15 – 8:15
Learn the ins and outs of stage makeup for exploration and work behind the scenes on film sets, television shoots, and live theatre. This class will walk students through the basics of makeup all the way through to the special effect techniques used on their favorite screen or live theatre characters. A full year course of study will allow the students to fully explore the creation of different make-up styles, masks and character props. Teacher: Corinne Maine
SPOTLIGHTERS ACTING (6th – 8th) Tuesdays 5:30 – 6:30 OR Wednesdays 7:00 – 8:00
Students in this class will continue to build on the skills they have been working on, character development, voice and articulation, ensemble work, making brave choices, lisenting and reacting. Through a series of more complex scenes and monologues they will further explore the importance of timing, identifying beat changes, “being in the moment” and increased script reading comprehension. Pre-requisite: Must be currently enrolled in an acting or Improv class at Mainstage Center for the Arts
This is a performance based class focusing on non-musical plays. The class will present two performances each year. Students wishing to participate in Company must also be enrolled in a Mainstage Acting class to develop the skills that will be reinforced in the rehearsal process of Company. Teacher: Ian Kimble
ACTING CLASSES IN GLASSSBORO (4th – 8th grade) – Wednesdays 5:15 – 6:15
This class, taught by Glassboro High School Drama Director, Anne Marie Weaver, brings together elements of the of the Spotlighter and Show Stopper Acting classes to meet the skill levels of its current students. The class always includes elements of audition prep, and through the use of scene work, monologues and and theatre games other important acting skills. Teacher: Anne Marie Weaver. THEATRE ON THE FLY IMPROV CLASS – (7th – 12th) Wednesdays 6:00 – 7:00
Improvisation is one of the best ways to improve a student’s craft. Actors will learn the tools and develop the skills to think on the spot, to keep the story going even when a line is dropped. They will build confidence, teamwork and the ability to really listen to one another to move a story forward. Through the use of theatre games and other improvisational techniques, students will learn to truly explore the what, where, when and why of any character they play. Teacher: Johnathan Aviles

Clown/Pantomime: A class where the students can get a different experience or perspective when it comes to performing. Not focusing on vocal performances, but being able to perform through physical movement, facial expression and Laban Movement. The Clown idea gives the student a chance to create their own person and develop a character that they are willing to perform to an audience. Teacher: Johnathan Aviles

This is a Musical Theatre performance based class where students will be working on a full-scale musical performance, which will be performed at the Dennis Flyer Theatre! Students in this class must be enrolled in Broadway Apprentice’s, Broadway Pros, or currently taking MCA classes/lessons in 2 of the 3 disciplines (acting, dance, voice).
