Mainstage Center for the Arts is accepting job applications for Summer Stage 2022! Come and join the Summer Stage staff for the program’s 34th summer. These positions are for our MT Kidz (ages 5 – 7), Apprentice (ages 8 – 10), and Children’s Theatre (ages 11 – 17) summer camp programs. There is the opportunity for 3 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks, and 7 weeks employment. All programs held at Camden County College, Blackwood NJ. Applicants must be 17 years or older to be considered for employment.
Directors, Choreographers, Assistant Directors
Great opportunity for elementary school teachers with theatre, dance or music background.
Work with a team of individuals to direct, choreograph and produce a fully staged productions. Depending on the program, employment dates vary between June 20th – August 8th, while ages of campers vary between 5 and 17 years old.
We’re looking for carpenters, scenic artists, sound and lighting staff and interns.
Learn what it takes to put on a show behind the curtain; from building the sets, to designing the lights and running sound—be a part of the show without ever having to step on stage.
We’re looking for a costuming intern.
Learn what it means to be responsible for designing/creating the costumes for a production and making sure they match the time period/style.
This is a volunteer program designed for those entering 12th grade and up in the fall of 2022 to develop skills in the world of theatre by working hand in hand with experienced directors and educators in the development of this year’s show season. Interns will participate in making artistic decisions, assist in determining and teaching staging and choreography and learn the ins and out of producing a musical.
Income opportunity – Interns will have the opportunity make a small income when working for an hourly wage in our before and aftercare program called Stage Key.

Mainstage Center for the Art’s Summer Stage is the oldest, most successful, and most affordable youth theater program in Southern New Jersey. We offer a series of creative theater programs specifically designed to allow children of every age to expand their skills. For 34 summers, children have enjoyed Summer Stage, where participants use their imaginations to share the MAGIC of live performances through outstanding musical productions, insightful films, and creative set construction.
This summer all programs and shows will be held at Camden County College (200 College Drive, Blackwood, NJ).
