Harmony Show Choir Auditions

 

Mainstage Center for the Arts is proud to announce open auditions for the Harmony Show Choir. The group consists of talented and dynamic high school performers trained to perform an array of music and dance. The Harmony Show Choir acts as ambassadors for Mainstage Center for the Arts with an array of year round performance opportunities throughout the community and beyond.

Over the years, Harmony has delighted audiences at many local festivals and events—along with multiple performances at the The Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade and in Disney World.
The group is open to those entering 9th grade - 12 grade.

WHAT TO PREPARE
Those auditioning should prepare 32-bars of a song that best represents your talent and dress comfortably, choosing an outfit that will allow you to move freely for a dance audition.


The show choir is a great opportunity for high schoolers who love to sing, dance, and perform! With challenging choreography, intricate choral vocals, individualized coaching, ensemble building, and performance training, Harmony Show Choir is a great training ground for students with a desire to pursue the performing arts as well as students who simply have a passion and talent for the stage.

Do I need previous singing or dancing experience?
No prior experience is required to join our show choir, but we encourage it. We operate in a fast-paced environment, fostering a supportive atmosphere for all members to learn and grow together.

What types of music do you perform?
We present a dynamic hour-long musical revue, featuring a diverse repertoire that includes past classics, swing, Motown, Broadway, and Disney tunes. Our performances cater to a wide range of musical tastes, ensuring an engaging experience for every audience member.

What commitment is expected from members?
We encourage every member to make an effort to attend as many weekly rehearsals and performances as possible. Additionally, leave of absences are available for those who need it, ensuring flexibility to accommodate various commitments.

Are there opportunities for solos or featured roles?
Yes, there are opportunities for both vocal solos and dance features in multiple numbers. These opportunities are available throughout the year.

Is there a dress code for performances?
We have a dress code for performances that includes both casual and formal looks. The cost for costumes is covered within the tuition, and members’ costumes will be ordered and provided. This ensures a uniform and polished appearance for our performances while keeping the process convenient and affordable for our members.
