After a wonderful summer at Summer Stage, we are thrilled to have returning, and new students join us for a great season of classes. Our staff is a combination of silver and gold, returning and new. We know your kids are going to love them all. Learn more about them on our meet the teachers page

 Classes are listed in order of age range from youngest to oldest.

45 – 60 minute classes | $78 per installment
90 minute classes | $125 per installment
installments are due the 1st of each month

Plus a one time $25 Registration Fee.
Slight discounts apply when taking multiple classes.

Broadway Apprentice (Ages 9-11)
Mondays 6:00PM – 7:00PM  •  Teacher: Lindsay Deal & Shaun Yates
Tuesdays 7:15PM – 8:15PM  •  Teacher: Samantha Ricchiuti

Your young performing apprentice will explore the next level of skills needed to become a confident musical theatre performer. Skills will include but are not limited to exploration of harmonies, solo vocal preparation, complex dance combinations, and the introduction to various dance and musical theatre styles.

Showstopper Acting (Ages 9-12)
Wednesdays 5:30PM – 6:30PM  •  Teacher: Anne Marie Weaver

Understanding the importance of timing, listening and reacting, being in the moment, creating an environment, and so many other skills will be introduced as our young actors take it up a notch. These skills will be developed as students work on more complex scenes and monologues.

Improvisation (Ages 9-12)
Tuesdays 6:00PM – 7:00PM  •  Teacher: Courtney Bird

Tons of fun is the best way to describe a class in improvisation.  Young actors will be introduced to the “rules” of improvisation and sharpen their ability to think on the spot through exercises and games.  While they are having a blast, they will discover new and exciting ways to tell a story, create a character and build a strong ensemble.

Broadway Pros (Ages 12-15)
Mondays 5:45PM – 6:45PM  •  Teacher: Aimee Ferenz

The intensity of study grows as students at this level travel through the ages of Broadway Musicals learning dance combinations from different eras of musicals while also focusing on acting through song. This is great preparation for musicals at schools, community theaters and the Mainstage Center for the Arts Musical Theatre Company.

Musical Theatre Company (Ages 12-17)
Mondays 7:00PM – 8:30PM  •  Teacher: Lindsay Deal & Aimee Ferenz

This is a Musical Theatre performance based class where students will be working on DESCENDANTS: THE MUSICAL; a full-scale musical which will be performed at the Dennis Flyer Theatre!  (Please see prerequisite information below). All students will refine their skills in singing, dancing and acting in the real world application of a full musical. Performances will include professional designers and students will get the real feel of taking a production from start to finish. These are 90 minute classes September through March, 2 Hour Classes in April and May. Can be paid in full for a slight discount or in 9 installments. Performance classes also require participation in Tech Week rehearsals in Lincoln Hall at Camden County College as well as for all performances.

* Students in the class that are not yet in high school must also be enrolled in Broadway Pros, Harmony Show Choir, Encore Show Choir,  Showstopper Acting or Private Voice Lessons at Mainstage Center for the Arts.

Ace Your Audition (Ages 13-17)
Thursdays 6:15PM – 7:15PM  •  Teacher: Courtney Bird

This class is designed for those young performers who want to learn how to command a room and catch a director’s eye.    Skills will include how to select, prepare and present  the best audition material.  Students will be encouraged to bring in the audition materials  they need to prepare for school performances, or college and community theater auditions. Being the best prepared at an audition is often the key to success. Because of the unique nature of auditioning, rather than recital performances the culmination of this class will be a panel for a selection of Regional Theatre Professionals on Sunday, June 9, 2024 in the evening (exact time TBD). Students will be asked to perform their audition pieces and will receive written feedback from our panel of artists.

Acting Company (Ages 13-17)
Thursdays 7:15PM – 8:45PM  •  Teacher: Courtney Bird

This is a performance and skill based class geared to those students who want to strengthen their acting skills and have the opportunity to perform in fully staged non- musical plays. Skills will include character development, improvisation, script analysis, and brave acting choices. This class will perform twice during the year in the Little Theatre at Camden County College: January 11 & 12, 2024 @ 7 pm and June 14 & 15, 2024 @ 7 pm. Performance pieces for January will be The “Two Halves of Andrew’s Brain” by Alex Miceli and “Everyman” By Sarah Frankel, Performance pieces for June will be “No Show” and “15 Reasons Not To Be In A Play” both by Alan Haehnel. These classes will be 90 minutes in duration, performance classes also require participation in Tech Week rehearsals in Lincoln Hall at Camden County College as well as for all performances.
