Theater Teaching Artist – Creative Drama (Part-Time)
We are seeking a dynamic and engaging Theater Teaching Artist to lead an after-school creative drama program for elementary students.
Program Details:
Location: Chews Elementary School, Blackwood, NJ
Schedule: 8 consecutive Wednesdays, beginning April 8
Time: 3:10 PM – 4:10 PM
Age Group: Grades 3–5
Class Size: Up to 20 students
Compensation: $400 stipend
Teaching Format: Co-teaching with another instructor
About the Program:
This class is an introduction to theater with a focus on creative drama. Students will explore imagination, storytelling, movement, and character-building through interactive games and activities in a supportive, ensemble-based environment.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with co-teacher to plan and lead engaging weekly lessons
Foster a positive, inclusive, and creative classroom environment
Guide students in developing basic theater skills (improvisation, voice, movement, storytelling)
Encourage participation, confidence, and teamwork
Communicate effectively with program coordinators as needed

Education Manager
Start Date: July 1, 2026
Salary: $45,000 – $50,000 annually
Status: Full-time, exempt
Reports To: Mainstage Executive Team, including the Artistic Director and Managing Director
Position Summary
The Education Manager serves as a key leader in the planning, coordination, and execution of Mainstage Center for the Arts’ educational programming. This role oversees the administration and growth of classes, camps, and school partnerships, ensuring high-quality arts education experiences for students of all ages. The Education Manager acts as a central liaison between teaching artists, families, schools, and leadership while supporting the organization’s broader mission through strong program management and community engagement.
Primary Responsibilities
Oversee daily administrative operations for Studio, Summer Stage, Show Choir, and educational programs.
Manage program calendars, registration systems, attendance tracking, and scheduling.
Coordinate teaching artist assignments, classroom coverage, and program logistics.
Ensure all programs are appropriately staffed, organized, and aligned with Mainstage standards.
Support and develop curriculum as needed to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with educational goals.
Serve as on-site operational support during Summer Stage and key programs, including oversight of daily activities and coverage as needed.
Develop and maintain relationships with schools, districts, and community organizations.
Coordinate outreach efforts to expand program participation and partnerships.
Serve as the primary contact for school-based programs, residencies, and group participation.
Maintain and grow databases of school and community contacts.
Manage communication with families and participants regarding schedules, updates, and program information.
Oversee program-related email inboxes and ensure timely, clear communication.
Maintain organized records of student information, forms, and compliance documentation.
Track and report program enrollment and related revenue.
Work with the Managing Director and Business Manager on billing, payment tracking, and reconciliation for educational programs.
Assist with budget tracking for programs and supply needs.
Support planning and execution of student showcases, performances, and special events.
Coordinate volunteer ushers for performances and events, including scheduling and on-site oversight.
Coordinate logistics related to educational programming within larger Mainstage events and festivals.
Collaborate with production and artistic teams to ensure smooth integration of educational programming into performances.
Participate in planning discussions as part of the Mainstage leadership team.
Work closely with Artistic, Managing, and Business Directors to align educational programming with organizational goals.
Attend staff meetings, performances, and key events as required.
Perform additional duties as assigned in support of organizational needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Arts Education, Theatre, Arts Administration, Education, or a related field required.
2–4 years of experience in arts education, program management, or related field preferred.
Experience working with youth programs, camps, or educational environments.
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to manage multiple programs and priorities simultaneously.
Experience working with teaching artists, schools, or community organizations preferred.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
Work Schedule & Expectations
Schedule will vary seasonally and includes evenings and weekends during programs, performances, and Summer Stage.
Hours are determined in collaboration with Executive Leadership.
A formal check-in will be scheduled after the initial review period to assess workload and program needs.
Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time, exempt position with an annual salary range of $45,000–$50,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include paid time off (company holidays and designated personal days) in alignment with staff policies. Healthcare benefits are not included. Summer Stage Program Director (Independent Contractor)
Location: Blackwood, NJ
Employment Dates: June 1, 2026 – August 10, 2026
We are seeking an organized, enthusiastic, and experienced Summer Stage Program Director to oversee our Summer Stage educational theatre program. This role is an independent contractor position responsible for the administrative, operational, and student-facing aspects of the program, working closely with the Mainstage Executive Team, including the Artistic Director and Managing Director.
