Performing Arts Academy - Classes for 4th & 5th Graders

All Classes take place at the Performing Arts Academy in Blackwood unless other wise noted as Glassboro. Glassboro classes will be held at the South Delsea Spots Complex, 152 S. Delsea Drive, Glassboro, NJ

ACTING 
Tuesdays  6:45-7:45
Wednesdays  5:30-6:30 
    *Wednesdays:   5:15 – 6:15
  (*Glassboro 5th – 8th grade)   

ACTING:  This course covers all the bases of stage performance for your young artist.  Drama, comedy, improvisation, creating a character, you name it, it’s covered!

 

BROADWAY SONG & DANCE

Mondays  6:30 – 7:30
Wednesday  6:30-7:30  

BROADWAY SONG & DANCE:  Your young artist will learn all there is to know about musical theatre from two of our esteemed faculty!  Once dancing and singing are combined, artists will leave this course prepared, confident, and well-rounded performers.

 

HULA DANCE

Tuesdays     6:30 – 7:30

 HULA DANCE: This class is the gateway into the art and culture of Hawaiian dance with hula. Explore basic stance, movement, and concepts of the hula.

 
               

KNOW HOW TO GO PRO
   for children in 1st – 5th grade 
Thursday       6:00 – 7:00

Know How to Go Pro:  Our professional faculty wants to share their knowledge and skills on how to break into the acting world! Students will leave the class with a resume, headshot, monologues, scene skills, songs, a film reel, and the confidence to make it! Once a month classes will be held with an adult family member.

 

MUSICAL THEATRE COMPANY

5th – 12th Grade

Musical Theatre Company:  This year we are turning the volume up! Performers in this program will perform holiday and musical theatre favorites around the area, then begin working on a full scale musical performance to be  performed at the Dennis Flyer Theatre! Students in grades 5 – 8  must also be enrolled in the skill-based class Broadway Song and Dance.

Theatre on the Fly: 
Have you ever wanted to make up a show as you go along? Have you ever wondered what the professionals do when they forget their lines on stage? Have you ever wanted to create a show of your own, and perform it in front of an audience? Then the brand new Improvisational Ensemble class is for you! This class will involve learning how to act on the spot, how to work together as a team, and how to incorporate improvisation into theatre, all through fun games and exercises.
